Fishnets & Film Film
Fishnets & Film Inc, has a clear mission to foster and celebrate both the Queer Performance Art and Queer Cinema communties through the production of film festivals, special events, and films. It also vows to remind and enlighten our mainstream community how our LGBTQ+ community members are essential and valuable members of our society.
F&F, Inc. was founded by Queer Artist and Filmmaker Robby Kendall, who screened his first short film about Drag Queens during a Drag Show in September 2021. Promoted as a ‘red carpet’ event, Kendall realized this one-time event, entitled Fishnets and Film, was better suited as a vehicle for other Queer Performing Artists and filmmakers who contribute to Queer Cinema. F&F, Inc. has since evolved as a recognized and award- winning film festival, attracting submissions from around the world.
F&F, Inc. has recurring festivals and events in the Bay Area, including the cities of Emeryville, Oakland, and San Jose. F&F, Inc. has recently established creative partnerships and collaborative relationships with other organizations that have similar missions, like Frameline. F&F, Inc. continues to schedule and program innovative, highly engaging, and, often times, ‘themed’ events that create memorable experiences.
